Baby Update

So much for weekly updates - we're at 27 weeks! I've missed many weeks, however I haven't missed much action. Not too much has been going on besides growing!

Since we have found out Baby Fuchs was a girl we have been working on our nursery and deciding on the gear we're going to need for baby.

Doctors appointments have all been really good and all the stats are great. My doctor is now out for a month so nothing big can happen and we also have our glucose test coming up. Brode and Dane both think the glucose test juice is orange Kool-Aid so it is now hidden in the fridge.

I have gotten a horrible sinus infection and it has been the worst part of the pregnancy and it has nothing to do with pregnancy! Having no medications to take is the hardest part.

No update in cravings, still drinking chocolate milk and trying to avoid ice cream.

I have cut back on classes and due to schedule changes I am now taken off the regular schedule. Dane and I are staying active with walks at home but I had hit close to a limit on class levels I could do. Staying active has really helped all the way through!

Disney February 2014

Yes Disney.... again! We know, we know, and we get the same reaction every time we say we're going again. We can't help that we love it.

Brode is at that age that he loves it more and more every time and gets to try new things every time. Every experience is always different! I have now been there in all these various situations;

1. When I was Brode's age
2. With parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins
3. With a best friend and soccer team for a tournament
4. With my show choir to perform at Disney and The Villages
5. With Dane's family (and no Brode, nice relaxing trip)
6. Our engagement trip!
7. Christmas with my parents, and Dane's whole family

8. On a Disney cruise and then Disney with just Dane, Brode and I for Brode's birthday
9. As a complete Fuchs family staying in Keith and Sue's condo and for my birthday

See, every trip is different! They all have a different feel, or they've been during a different holiday and they each offer something magical!

This time we went to visit Dane's parents and stay with them for the week! Dane, Brode, Bryce, and I flew down on February 1st so we'd be all settled in for my birthday on the 2nd!

Day 1: We went to EPCOT for some favorites rides, and my favorite german cheesecake dessert!

Day 2: Universal Studios! It was one of the warmest days and we wanted to get wet on the water rides so it made this day perfect!

Day 3: We spent time relaxing at Keith and Sue's condo, and then went to one of the Disney resorts to swim for the rest of the day. This was by far Brode's favorite. He could swim for days.

Day 4: Hollywood Studios and Downtown Disney!

Day 5: We headed to Magic Kingdom to hit our favorite of all our rides. We were also able to get into Be Our Guest again after a long day and Brode was exhausted by the time we ate. Their birthday dessest was my favorite!

Day 6: Animal Kingdom! One of our colder, rainy days we went to the Animal Kingdom, and made sure to get the safari twice!

We finished up our week with a second day at The Magic Kingdom, more time Downtown Disney, and then made the long trek back to the snow in Wisconsin on Sunday after a great 8 days of sunshine!

Blue or Pink, What Do You Think?

WE KNOW BABY'S GENDER!!
My anxiety and impatience has gone down tremendously now that we know what Baby Fuchs is! We found out on January 21st and revealed with Dane, Brode and I that night at dinner. The same week we went to dinner with my parents and friends for my birthday and we revealed to them and then flew to Florida and told Dane's parents.

The big reveal:
We sealed the envelope of surprise and brought it to the bakery. They made cupcakes the same day for us and we used these for our big reveal.

My heart was racing when we picked them up and they were opening the box. I was convinced they were going to ice them the baby color and not white. I added the fun cupcake toppers from Pinterest when we got them home.

Dane, Brode and I bit into ours after dinner that night. From that moment on no one in our family was allowed to cross paths or talk to Brode in hopes he wouldn't spill the secret. It took Brode a few bites to get all the way through the cupcake and find the color.

Stay tuned for the big reveal in the next post......

Power Kid

Grandpa is known for giving  Brode is known to receive presents that aren't quite an age match according to the recommended age on the box.

The power wheels tractor suffices in the summer, but he was due for a winter toy a bit more power.

Cue the snowmobile:

Pass through a line of neighbor kids as they each outgrow, Brode is on to his turn with the snowmobile!  He loves that he has the same one as the other kids had. We bundled him up on Sunday and sent him out to ride!

He rides it like he's 13, not needing any practice, watching and waving at everyone else, and goes one handed every once and a while.

As we shoveled he pulled up  and yelled "This is SO fun". It's safe to say he likes it! Hopefully we get some great winter memories out of it for years to come.

Swimtastic Yellow Fish

Brode is in his second session of swim lessons as our new location!

Brode had been attending lessons at the YMCA since 6 months old, and was stuck. We weren't seeing progression, it was extremely stuck, and it just wasn't clicking with him. We had been working hard and getting back to confidence in the water after an unfortunate (and scary) incident in lessons but he just could not get comfortable. Every 7 weeks a new session would start and they would start back at square one. Brode wasn't comfortable switching teachers all the time, and by the time they got to his level it was over so they couldn't pass him.

We made the choice last fall to switch to Swimtastic Swim School when Dane left the Y for a new job and we have seen more improvement in Brode week to week than we did the entire last 2 years. It has been incredible to see him be comfortable, confident, and having so much fun.

He is a yellow fish with his current teachers. He gets a ton of time in the water with 2 teachers and 3 kids.

The teachers are awesome and encourage him so much. He throws a fit to be let go on a new skill, but they still let go and he gets it an is fine. He is now making forward progress by himself, dives to the bottom for rings alone, and doesn't hesitate on jumps or the slide.

Him feeling safe, knowing pool rules, and being confident is extremely important to us after having a scary moment and being near the water all the time. With the neighbors pool, the cottage lake, and many vacations with pools we want him to enjoy it!

He can't wait for our Florida trip in a few weeks to turn all his practice into fun at the resort!
