Christmas

Well the chaos is over and Christmas was great!Christmas Eve Brode and I went to church with my parents while Matthew went with his parents and grandma and had dinner with them. Brode did great in church, I was nervous because it is long for a baby boy as it is, but we had to get there pretty darn early to get a seat. He looked around at the lights and the people, listened to the music, then fell asleep for the entire mass. Afterwards we headed back here, had some delicious soup for dinner and watched the beginning of Its A Wonderful Life. We can't have a christmas without it! At 8 we went over to my mom's parents with that side of the family and did Christmas. We finally left at midnight because Brode wasn't taking the staying up late too well with lots of people around. Christmas morning we got up pretty early, my parents, Brode, Matt and I opened presents here and then had a nice breakfast together. Brode got lots of clothes and toys from grandma and grandpa and mom and dad. Although we all wanted open all of our things up we had to pack it under the tree and clean the house. My dad's family all came over here that afternoon and for dinner, then left around 6. We quickly packed up Brode and Matt and I headed over to his family's christmas at his aunt and uncles. Brode got a lot more things there, some cute outfits and some fun toys! He is going to need a new toybox after all of this. We came home earlier to get him in bed so we could get back to his schedule.
Friday the 26th Brode was three months old! We hung out here during the day and got back on schedule, while I worked from home. Then that night we had christmas with my moms side of the family, but more of an extension, with her aunts and uncles and cousins. Matt and Grandpa and Brode stayed home and had mens night.
Saturday wasn't so good for Brode, he woke up with a fever again, so back to the doctor we went. They wanted to check on him after being in the hospital they had to make sure it wasn't coming back. He just has a real bad cold and a fever so he has been pretty whiny and tired. Not himself at all! That night we went to my aunt and uncles and then they all came back here to see what everyone got and play some Wii. Brode had an early bedtime to try to get back to normal, and with this awful cold I had to go to bed early as well.

Hopefully we can just relax these next few days and get back to good health before the new year!

Getting Close!

Well Christmas is a few days away, and with having Christmas Day here we're usually cleaning. Wrong. The house is a disaster zone. We recently painted the living room, but this week is crunch time to get it all redecorated. The tables are coming tomorrow, along with the carpet being ripped out. Tuesday we're getting all new carpet and the new furniture is being delivered. We should just about have everything back to normal just in time for Christmas.

Brode has been doing well. He had a check up at the doctor and she said that he is doing great and doesn't hear any more of his sickness. We started letting him cry himself to sleep. It has been going very well. I enjoy it because it is more of a routine, and then I'm not sitting up until midnight every night waiting for him to fall asleep. It gives me a little break. We started having him to go bed around 9, and he has been sleeping until 5! I couldn't ask for anything more. It is great! It is hard to believe he is going to be three months old on Friday!

We sent out our first christmas card this year. We took a picture of Libby, Brode and I for all of our family and friends, then switched Matt and Libby and my dad ended up ordering some for us so we sent out a couple of our first official card!

Thats about all we have to update about right now. We're excitied for all of our festivites. We're sure to wear the little guy out because we've got a lot of christmas's to go to!

One Week

I can't believe Christmas Eve is a week away. All my wrapping and shopping is done so I have moved on to baking cookies and candies. It has become quite a challenge though because nap time is only so long and Brode insists on being spoiled when he is awake.

This week is pretty slow. The little guy is doing lots better but we still just need to stay inside and away from people so he can get back to 100%. Tomorrow is our first chance to get out. Brode needs to go back to the doctor to see how he is doing. Afterwards Matt and I havestuff to do so Brode is staying with Grandma. This weekend will also be slow but itwill be good to relax before the next crazy weeks to come!

Our new discovery this week is our feet as you can tell!

Sick Baby!

So this was going to be a fun weekend for all of us, but things changed quickly.

Friday Matt and I went shopping for Brode's christmas presents then hung out here with the little guy. Saturday morning I had to work, luckily it is from the kitchen table so when I found out Brode had a high temperature when he woke up I could watch him closely. It wasn't long and he was over 102 so we called and brought him in right away. After 2 xrays, an EKG, and drawing blood it was determined that he has pnuemonia so he got admitted into the pediatrics center at the hospital. This meant no making gingerbread hours with Grandma Beth. It is nice that they have beds that are cribs, but it looks like a giant cage which made the entire thing even scarier. To make it worse he got more blood drawn but they were having an extremely hard time finding veins so he got poked a lot. They then hooked him up to two different machines/monitors so he had wires all over. Adding to that they gave him an IV, but that was quite a challenge as well. Keeping an IV on a 2 and 1/2 month old is not easy so he had an entire arm plate along with it. Lastly they put a security band and hospital band on each of his ankles. It was pretty hard to even move the poor little guy.

After a lot of hydration and antibiotics to treat different things he started doing a lot better! He got two more blood drawing pricks this morning and 3 more xrays. Finally they decided he could go home. They thought it would be monday or tuesday but he was a fighter and got to come home.

So our weekend quickly came to an end after being cooped up, but we're beyond thankful that Brode is ok and back to normal! It is so hard watching him in that much pain, but it is so nice being able to comfort him and have him know who his mommy is.

This week we will be staying in making the holiday cookies and candies so Brode can get back to normal!

Snow!

Well, it's December and things are going to start getting crazy!

There is good new on the baby front! Brode is sleeping through the night! He started at going to bed at midnight every night and waking up about 7 or 8, that went on for a while, but he recently started going to bed at 11 and just this week it has become 10:00 and then he wakes up at 7, drinks a few ounces of a bottle and goes back to bed until 10! It is amazing!

He also just found his hands, and thinks they are the coolest things in the world. They started to catch his eye as he waved them past, but now he's got the Superman fist straight up in the air and just stares at them. He can also see a lot farther and watches everyone a lot more. We started putting him facing out in the carrier that you wear so that we can get stuff done and he just looks around. He starts to get heavy when he falls asleep but it is a good workout!

Last weekend just consisted of working, Wii, shopping, and visitors. Brode got to go to grandma Beths while my mom and i did some shopping, but he slept the whole time!

This week we're just finishing some shopping and wrapping since we're snowed in!

Christmas Time!

Thanksgiving was very enjoyable! Matt had Brode Wednesday so I got a nice full night of sleep, then he got some time with him in the morning. We each went with our families for this Thanksgiving. Brode hadn't napped all day so he was sleeping be 3 and slept the entire time until we got home at 10 when he decided it was time to be up until midnight like usual.
Friday night Matt and I got some time to oursevles while Brode went to Grandma Beths so we went out to dinner and rented a movie. It was nice just to relax. Saturday was Day One of decorating the Rivet household for Christmas! We got the lights and the tree up, but it took a lot longer because Brode wasn't too excited about it. He was very excited about the lights when we plugged them in. Grandma and Grandpa babysat while I went and hung out with Miss Kelsey at the hockey game and saw Neenah people.

Today is Day Two of decorating, but Brode is already tuckered out from all the excitement! I love getting all the christmas decoations out because it feels so warm and cozy and gets me more and more excited! The stockings are my favorite part, the entire Rivet side of the family all have the same ones from Grandma, so now we just need Brode's addition.

Thanksgiving

Brode is 2 months today! Yay! It seems like it's been so long, but yet so short and went so fast! He went to the doctor on Monday and he is now 11 pounds and grew another 2 inches! He also got his first shots. He screamed very loudly for a little bit and then was fine, he slept the whole day but when he woke up his legs were very sore so he was not happy at all. He is finally back to his usual self!

I am very excited for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I can't believe it's here already, and before you know it Christmas will be here! Tomorrow we'll probably be lazy in the morning and then my mother and I are going to pack up Brode and go out to my aunt and uncles for our Thanksgiving dinner with her side of the family. My dad never really celebrates with us and Matthew will be spending this holiday with his family because we'll get lots of both families at Chirstmas.

This weekend should be fun. I'm hopefully going to get a chance to see everyone that is home for Thanksgiving and we're putting up our Christmas tree and decorating! Matt has hockey games so he'll be able to hang out with Brode during the day so I can get some things done.

The baby just woke up and I still have things to get done! Happy Thanksgiving!

LaCrosse

Well this weekend was our trip to LaCrosse to see the girls! We've been waiting for a long time, I was dying. I couldn't wait all week, I was so excited! We left around noon on Friday, Brode slept the entire car ride until we got there at 3 and it was time for him to eat so he was hungry right away. It was so great to see everyone, and even get a chance for dinner alone with Matthew, to go out to see everyone, have a family dinner and play some games. We just hung out while some people stopped over to see Brode. He loved seeing all of his aunties. He was pretty well behaved, just not happy when he had to eat, and when he kept Tiff awake all night! I hope we can go back next semester but things are sure to get busy then so we'll see! It sure was entertaining.
This week is already Thanksgiving, and it should be pretty busy. Brode has a doctor tomorrow, he is getting all of his first shots. The rest of the days just have random appointments and things. We havent even figured out our plans for the holidays yet. It is a lot harder with two familes now! We'll see how it all goes.
Have a great week and a great Thanksgiving!

Weekend

This weekend was very enjoyable for everyone but Brode! I went with my parents down to Schaumburg and went to IKEA and lots of other stores to continue the redecorating of the entire house! We went down Friday afternoon and got some stuff done that night, had a our traditional Portillos dinner then headed back to the hotel so I could take advantage of sleeping through the night. Saturday we stopped at a lot of different stores and got a lot of walking in and made some good purchases. We got home around 9, just in time to pick up Brode and Libby because we missed them. I think they even missed each other, they've been getting along a lot more lately.

Brode stayed at Daddy's this weekend, but he had a hockey game both nights so while he was having fun playing Brode got to stay at Grandma Beths and hang out. She hasn't see him for a while so it was good time to spend with him. The only problem was that he was still sick with a little bit of a temperature and upset stomach so he was pretty fussy at times. Poor guy. Hopefully he gets better soon!

Today is just lazy day around the house. I got shelves and pictures for my room so I'm excited to hang those up today, then we're just watching movies and things. It is bath night for Brode so we'll get him all cuddled in, then he'll hopefully go to bed early!

It was a fun weekend, but next weekend should be even better in LaCrosse!

Sick baby boy

Brode is sick, very sick!

I thought he had just woken up on the wrong side of the crib yesterday, he was extremely fussy all day, so I started to catch on after a few hours of crying when we ruled out that he was hungry. Monday had been a very great day, he was happy as could be and hung out all day, but yesterday was the complete opposite. Finally at 10 last night he started throwing up, more than I thought was physically possible for the a little boy. He slept pretty well and ate well during the night so I started to think he was doing a little better. Sleeping in until 10 was amazing as well and he did great just hanging out for a while after. I ran errands for a while and he was fine, but once we got home he was a wreck. He hasn't been eating much today and started throwing up again. I finally got him to sleep for a little bit longer. Grandma and Daddy are both gone tonight so hopefully Grandpa will be willing to hang out, I have to admit I need a break. I feel so helpless when I know his stomach is bothering him and he doesnt stop crying.

Hopefully this won't last long, he is staying at Grandma Beth's and Daddy's this weekend and I wouldn't want him to give them a hard time!

Back to routine.

Nothing is really too new. We had an extremely busy weekend, but it was fun. We got Brode signed up to do some diaper testing at KC so I had some meetings for thay bright and early Friday morning. I came home to make sure Grandma was doing ok with Brode, then headed down to Oshkosh to finish school things! After going and figuring everything out I am so much more excited. I have all my classes figured out and she said they were the perfect ones to pick and I'm not going to fall behind, which was a great relief to hear. After getting a few more things done down there I came back here, hung out with baby for a little bit then headed to the doctor. We had a nice 30 minute break in there before we picked up Grandpa from the airport, took a breather at home for a bit then headed to the LaBarge's. Matt and I got to spend our first night out by ourselves! We went to Texas Roadhouse then met up with Megan and went to Saw V. It was a nice little break and I think Brode's Uncle Dave and Aunt Kay had a wonderful time playing with the baby!

Saturday Brode had some more visiting! Britt was home from Milwaukee so I took Brode to meet her and Melissa for lunch at Olive Garden and then some shopping. Brode slept the whole time so he wasn't too exciting. That afternoon I finally relaxed whilre Brode napped in his own bed instead of his carseat, then people came over that night. Daddy slept over and got up with him at night so I could sleep through the night! (Yayyy) Sunday was a nice family breakfast and then just relazing watching movies all day!

It is so cold I can't believe it, I don't like it at all. We're back to week days so Brode and I are just hanging out and trying to stay warm. He is getting better and just laying by himself, and he smiles now so he is fun to sit there and talk too. I like when he is awake and content so we can just hang out, but I like nap time so I can get some things done or get a nap is as well.

Have a great week, stay warm!

6 Weeks!

It's hard to imagine Brode is already 6 weeks old. When he was 3 weeks it seemed like it would never come, knowing how tired I was already and I had to do it all again. We finally washed all his clothes up and got them all ready because he can fit in them now! It's so fun going into his room in the morning and he smiles back at you from within that huge crib, then picking out adorable clothes for him.

This weekend will be an eventful one again. Tomorrow I had to go down to Oshkosh and figure out a million things for starting in the Spring so Brode will be hanging out with Grandma. Afterwards we have a trip to my doctor so they can see the little guy and make sure I'm back to normal. That night Matt and I are going out on date night so his Aunt and Uncle can watch Brode and spend some much needed time with him! Grandpa won't be happy that we're taking him away right when he gets home from Tennesee. Saturday we've got some random errands and visits during the day, then my parents are having some people over that haven't seen Brode yet so they're going to pass him around.

Happy Halloween!

Well Brode celebrated his first holiday! We dressed him up in his little candy corn outfit, packed him up in the stroller and went around the neighborhood while the kids were out running around! It was so beautiful out so everyone was handing their candy out outside and got to see him. Here is a new picture after it was finished and I made a new hat that fit. Afterwards we went to a little Halloween get together and everyone loved him up like usual. Saturday we took him on his first trip to the cottage for raking weekend. He started eating a lot better so he has been sleeping a little bit longer which is nice. Today wasn't so good, he was up at 5:30 and fussy all day, we think he may be getting a little sick!
November is going to be crazy and we're going to be extra busy! I don't mind because I'm bored but packing him up and keeping him healthy and not too worn out is hard. It should all be a lot of fun though!
This week should be long. Grandpa is gone to Tennessee again, Grandma has plans every night, and I have to register for school, go for orientation, and have doctors appointments! Oh boy!
Have a great week, one of the last nice ones for a while!

1 Month

Another weekend come and gone. Once again it was a busy one. Friday Brode spent the day at Daddy's so they could bond and I could get some relaxing time. That night we Matt's Aunt Kay and Uncle Dave's for dinner with some family so they could see Brode again. He must have been a little to active that day because he was up all night, so Matt stayed busy with him while I got some much needed sleep. Saturday we went to the mall, Gordman's, and daddy's again all day so once again he was up all night! You think I would learn that keeping him out all day makes him sleep in his car seat so he is up all night, nope. We went to the grocery store and spent the afternoon at Daddy's, so we'll see how tonight goes. Also, today Brode is 1 month old, it seems so long, yet so fast!

I finally finished his costume, but had to re-do the hat because it was a little small. It looks much cuter in person, but there are only so many things you can be when you're tiny and not even going trick-or-treating. He has to celebrate his first holiday though so it'll work perfect.
Tomorrow we have a few appointments, one being his doctor so we'll see how much he weighs now! I'm kind of excited, he has pudgy little cheeks so it will be interesting!

This week we'll have to stay home this week and relax so he gets back on his schedule and keeps working towards sleeping through the night!

We planned a trip to LaCrosse today and I can't wait! I'm so excited, it can't come soon enough.

Have a great week!

Fall days

The first couple days home alone were really boring, but I'm really enjoying the time alone with Brode now. Although I don't get much sleep at night Brode insists we both get our day started at 8 every morning, but I love going into his room and pulling him out of his crib and hanging out all morning. He sleeps during the afternoon until people come home at dinner time, but thats when I can get some things done. He is only a couple weeks old but he is becoming more and more of a little person and does something new every day. I feel like I'm really getting to know him and can help when he is upset and crying. He has been a little fussy the past couple days, his stomach is upset so he is having some problems, I feel so bad for the little guy.

Today we made a little trip the grocery store and to get pumpkins to get out for a little bit. This afternoon we have just been relaxing. I turned on the fireplace, lit some pumpkin spice candles, grabbed my stacks of things to do and curled up with a pillow, blanket, laptop, and Brode in the living room. It seems like a perfect fall day, I definetaly cannot complain. Grandpa and Daddy should be home pretty soon to have their bonding time with the little guy.

Tomorrow is cleaning lady day so Brode and I will be hanging out in the basement so I plan on sewing his halloween costume and scanning in his portrait proofs so hopefully I'll get some pictures up later.

Portraits

Wednesday already! The first week Brode was home went extremely slow, but the past 2 have flown by! I thought this week would go slow being alone all day, not true. This weekend is going to be another crazy one so I've been getting things done all week because we'll be gone all weekend! Matt's 21st birthday is tomorrow so he will be celebrating for the next few days, and I will be at a wedding so Brode will have his first babysitter and be staying at Grandma Beths!

Brode got his newborn portraits done today, here are a few to peek at until the proofs come back. He cooperated tremendously well, after he filled his diaper
and was a happy baby. He sure stunk up the place, but it got some eyes open and some good smiles.

Have a great end of the week and weekend!

Busy Weekend!

After sitting around during the week the weekends seem extremely crazy! We don't get many chances to sit still. Friday was already going to be crazy and then took a major turn really fast. Matt headed off to hockey while I hung out with Brode and got all my cleaning chores done, but hockey didn't last too long as Matt has been pretty sick and had a hard time breathing. He came back here by us, then we all headed to the doctor to check him out. After a couple hours of sitting at the doctor and running around for medicine he ended up in the hospital. I came back home as the baby boy was ready for some food, only to get a call that Matt has to stay overnight. This turned in to very bad news because he was not happy about staying, it was my first night alone with Brode, and Matt wouldn't get to see the LaCrosse girls who were visiting.

It was pretty hectic but I finally made it to Kelsey's with the little tyke to see the loves of my life and introduce them to their "nephew". Luckily they tired little Brode out and he slept amazingly that night, making it easy on me my first night alone with him. Saturday wasn't going to be any more relaxing. We had coffee with the neighbor ladies in the morning so they could all see Brode. We got a huge portrait package as a gift from the neighborhood families so I'm extremely excited to go get Brode's pictures taken! He gets newborns, 5-6 months, and 8-10 months all taken. So after he got passed around over there we came back here for him to get a quick nap in, then the LaCrosse girls came back over and he got a second dose of love from them. As they left Chris Otto and Andrew Ziemke stopped over for a bit, then Brode finally got some food and a good nap. Not for long though, we packed him up on the stroller and took a walk in the gorgeous weather and made many stops for more neighbors to see him. He took another break as we ate dinner, got all packed up again and we headed over to see Claire and Casey. It was late night number 2 as we got home and put him to bed at 10:30 and he slept soundly for a long while after his long day.

Today shouldn't be nearly as bad, maybe a couple visitors otherwise just laying around and enjoying the weather. This is my first week alone with Brode so we'll see how it goes, hopefully the nights aren't too long. My dad is coming home in the afternoons so I can maybe fit a shower or a nap in.

Enjoy the beautiful weather today!

Daddy loves diapers....

So this may be weird to post on here, but i need to explain my appreciation for Matts help...
Brode didnt have a dirty diaper for a day and a half but was eating his normal amount so it was sure to be getting backed up. We could see it was bothering him but didnt know how to help. He finally cried himself to sleep and got all rested up. Iescaped to the shower, leaving matt tocheck on Brode as his entire room smells and his full diaper is about to blow on both sides! Poor matt gagged a little but got the job done as i laughed. What would i do without him sometimes. Needless to say Matt is off diaper duty for the rest of the day.

Now that Brode is happy and clean we are going to Barnes and Noble to use one of his gift cards and get him some good books to start reading! Yay!

This weekend should be busy! The girls from LaCrosse are coming to meet Brode and hang out in Neenah, then we have coffee with the neighbors, and more visitors all weekend! It's so fun to see people and get out of the house so I'm excited. Brode is due for a bath tomorrow so that he smells good for everyone that gets to meet him.

The days are still going well, and nights are getting a lot better. Matt and I have just been hanging out with Brode for the week and then grandma and grandpa claim him once they get home.

Brode sure does love Grandpa, but him and Libby havent decided what they think of each other yet.
Finally a more recent picture with mommy!
Have a great weekend!

Doing well!

So I'm trying to keep everyone updated, but nothing too much happens so I can't write too often!

Today we took Brode out to Fall Fair in Greenville with my family. It was nice to walk around and get some fresh air, he slept soundly in his car seat/stroller the whole time! He slept SOOOO well last night, Matt and I were both extremely happy. It's so nice to get 3-4 hour spans of sleep instead of waking up everyone hour for a dirty diaper or a hungry baby.

Here are a couple more pictures from the hospital...

His first pictures!

1 Week

So it's been a week... a long week.
We've been getting a little more sleep, but not too much.

Brode has been to the mall, the apple orchard, and a few other stores. It's so nice to get him out and push him around in the stroller and for me to see people again!
We're getting more visitors this weekend, people have been in and out all week, but its so fun to have everyone over! Sunday we might get out again and take Brode to Fall Fair to enjoy the weather and walk around a little bit.

Brode started smiling yesterday. I didn't believe people right away that he was because it is still really early... but i caught a few out of him this morning and LOVED every second of it.

Have a great weekend, I'll work on getting more pictures!

Baby Brode!

I know I need to stay updated, but it sure has been crazy!

The days are ok, there are visitors here and there but Brode continues to sleep.

The nights... not so much. He for sure has days and nights mixed up. He insists on staying awake between diapers and feedings. Today is his first doctors appointment so we're going to ask lots of questions and see if there is any way we can make him more comfortable! He also had his first sponge bath from daddy and I last night, that was quite the experience.

Besides the extremely long nights he is as adorable as can be! He has a lot of his daddy in him!

Matt and I are doing well. Extremely tired, but hanging in there.

Everyone asks why there are pictures of everyone else and Brode and none of mommy and baby... so here is one even though its not the most attractive.

More pictures to come later! I need to get ahold of grandpas camera!

Come and Gone

Well my due date has come and gone. 4 days past and it's all still the same as 2 weeks ago. We decided today if nothing happens tomorrow or Thursday I'm going in Friday morning to get things started. That seems like a long time to wait (when I'm this bored), but yet so close knowing this weekend I'll have a son! She said Friday at dinner time we should have a little boy in our arms!

I'm nervous and scared beyond all belief but overly excited all at the same time!

We will be sure to get pictures up as soon as we get home and things settle down!

Waiting time!

14 days... 2 weeks... it seems so long, yet so close! It seems crazy that I could have a little boy any day! His room got the final finishing touches the past couple days so we're all ready to go! I don't have much else to write about so I'll just put a couple pictures up from random summer events and be on my way!
So all you LaCrosse girls that got the tour a couple weeks ago probably remember this room a mess (one of the longer stops on the tour), but its my new room now:

I dont know how much I like it yet, its a lot smaller than my old room, but I dont think Brode would have liked the nasty red walls, and I do terribly miss my big down comforter.... but it'll do!

This is my wonderful M that I made! Now that all of the baby stuff is done and my green frog didn't match the new room, I took on a junk drawer art project! The collage consists of random things throughout my life that wont serve any purpose now besides artwork above my bed... but Daddy still needs to hang it up for me! It was somewhat sad to make it knowing that everything is over and all those great memories are long gone... but lots of new ones to come!

Next room: Brode's!! I know you've all by dying to see it, along with come over and help organize it! I thought it was going to take forever to get all 3 rooms done, but it only took 3 days to have them all complete! We just need to get the rocking chair from the basement and we're all set for the little guy!....

There is even a bed for Matthew so I can get some sleep in my own room! Yay!

After all this cleaning and hard work my parents decided they'd reward themselves... so this just showed up at our house one day:
I had to find a picture online because it's NEVER home... they love it too much and drive it everywhere! Gotta love it though... no more mom mini-van!

Libby (right) got to visit her sister Annie a few times this summer, but they dont like each other, hence the extremely forced picture! They were great troopers though because Claire and I loved it!
Libby also had her 7th birthday. I wrapper her present... she found it and wouldnt give up on getting it early....

The only other summer happenings that have pictures are the baby shower and camping... but I am not able to get them on here... so thats about all ive got for now! We'll just have to wait until Brode to get another update and more pictures!
Have a great weekend!

LaCrosse

It doesn't seem real that I would be moving back to LaCrosse today! I have to officially withdraw today, making me an Eagle no more. I didn't think I would miss it as much as I do. Hopefully I'll be able to visit and stay with the girls sooner than later.

Going back there is all I can think about it, when I have about 500 other things I SHOULD be thinking about.

I'm dying to put pictures up, but I want to get them all at once of the summer. I'm also just waiting on the bedding for Brode's room and then I can put a few pictures up so all you girls dying to see it can....

Have a great labor day weekend!

Baby Shower Weekend

So yesterday was my baby shower with the girls from my side of the family and all of my wonderful friends. It was so great to see everyone again and see people that I haven't seen all summer! There wasn't too much to do, but I hope everyone had a little bit of fun at some point.

All the gifts are AMAZING. There is WAY more than i could ever imagine over-flowing the living room right now. Everything helps SO much and all the outfits will be sure to make him extremely adorable. I also have to admit that all the toys are very fun and I'll have my fair share of playing with them. Today will consist of thank you notes and organizing everything. Im thinking I'll take a break and continue the new purse search.

That is about it for now, Thank you to everyone that came yesterday and to all the LaCrosse girls that made their long trips here!

The rest of my life

I feel like today previewed the rest of my life. I pulled out my little planner that I live my life off of now (it fits in my purse better than that whiteboard calender that Im so madly in love with!), made my list of a million things to do... then ran a million errands, spent a little too much time in the grocery store, did 5 loads of laundry for Matthew, wrapped lots of prizes/presents, went to the doctors (which showed that everything looked good, we're both incredibly healthy and she was impressed with how well im moving and how much energy I have!), baked muffins, took a little coffee break... then when that wasn't enough I hauled my 3 tubs of clothes, groceries and other random things over to Matthew's and cleaned his house. The coffee date with some girls tonight should be just the nice relaxing thing I need.... so much for a day off of work. I feel like such a little responsible mom, and I dont even have to carry a little boy around with me yet!

I turned in my last day of work yesterday, the paychecks are extremely nice but it's starting to sink in that I only have 4 weeks and Brode's crib is still in a million pieces on the floor. We decided to switch the entire house so that I get the blood red walls and the light blue and light green in my room will be Brode's nursery. This means I have 3 weeks after work to clean out the basement so that I can clean out the guest room and move it downstairs, clean my room and move it to the guest room, and then set up Brode's entire room. Oh my goodness. Let me just take the time to encourage people to never have an august/september baby, and for those of you that are apologize to your mothers because this heat is NOT fun!

4 days until the shower... which only means 3 until all the LaCrosse girls are here! Ohhhh boy.

Have a wonderful end of the week!

Here we go...

Alright, the start of something new. Everything going on right now seems very new, but this way I can keep you all informed of all the crazy things going on. I won't have much to write about if the last few weeks of summer are as boring as the first couple of months, but hopefully something will come up.
My real goal is to get this all figured out and get good at it by the time our little boy arrives so that all his wonderful friends away at school all over the state can stay informed and see all the firsts, along with sharing in mine and Matt's new experiences.

I'm being tormented by counting down the days until baby showers while all I want to do is shop for cute baby things. Not shopping until I know what we need is tough some days when I have nothing to do. Along with counting down the actual shower I am extremely excited for the girls from LaCrosse to make their travels here so that we can all be together again!

That's about it for now and for a while... hopefully a recap of summer pictures will be posted soon.
