Disney Christmas 2012: Day 1 & 2

The Fuchs family and the Rivet family joined together and made this Christmas a Disney celebration! We left on Monday evening the 17th and spent a week in Disney until Sunday the 23rd. Follow along on our picture adventure (I had to separate this post into days because there were 115 pictures I selected to use!)

Out trip started with an early flight out of Milwaukee therefore we had a VERY early wake up time. We didn't want to make it any earlier and harder on Brode so we stayed overnight across from the hotel Monday evening. Brode was SO excited to have a big bed to himself and that we were going to Disney when the sun came up.

Day 1:
We grabbed breakfast and headed over the airport as the sun was rising. Brode did awesome, breezing through security and him and Bryce (Dane's brother) left us in the dust.
We waited, and waited, and waited before our plane was ready.

We made a QUICK transfer before arriving in Orlando mid-afternoon.

Our first afternoon night and evening was spent at Hollywood Studios to ride some rides, see the lights, and have dinner at the Sci-Fi diner.

Bryce, Dane and I went straight for the big rides with Grandma and Grandpa went towards the stunt show.

Afterwards we explored around for our favorite rides, grabbed a snack and went straight for the Christmas lights. The Fuchs' have been in Disney for many Christmas', but this was our first time. You can imagine the jaw drop when we saw this:

The best part, they dance to the music of many different Christmas songs.

After seeing the lights we went over to dinner at the Sci-Fi diner. The diner is designed like a drive-in movie with a large screen and cars with tables. Brode loved it!

Brode was just about asleep before we got out of the park after a long first day!

Day 2:
Day 2 we spent the day at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

First up was Universal Studios and first on the list was the Despicable Me ride. This was brand new the last time we were here and the wait was hours! We were excited to get on this time around, but we did still have a short wait. We tried out the new camera and saw the many faces of Brode while in line:

We finally got in and enjoyed the 3D ride. Brode laughed through the whole thing!

We continued on through the park trying new rides, stopping for lunch, and watching the parade.
(One of Brode's favorites: HOP)

Half way through the day were finished with Universal Studios and we went over to Islands of Adventure. We started with the Grinchmas Wholiday Spectacular show!

Brode watches the Grinch over and over again, but having him RIGHT in front of us - he wasn't too sure!

Next stop on the list: Hogwarts!

After talking Grandpa into a few fairly LARGE roller coasters we stopped for Butterbeer. The boys loved it most:

Our next 3 stops were quite the adventure.
1 - Jurassic Park playground. We all lost each other several times!
 2. Water Ride - Grandpa, Dane and Bryce got soaked! Grandma, Brode, Dane's parents and I all stayed dry and laughed.
3. Spiderman - A little too intense 3D ride for Brode. He was NOT loving it and Grandpa was NOT happy with me for saying he would love it.

We had a few big roller coasters after heading over to dinner so the adults took Brode to a few more rides. Dane, Bryce and I rode the roller coasters in which I fully own up to saying a few bad words because they were terrifying.

We met Brode in Seuss Landing:

We got out quickly before the park closed and stopped for dinner at Bubba Gumps. We were all in need of some good shrimp! Of course we had a bit of a wait which resulted in a few impulse buys, but they have been quite entertaining in our house now!

What a day! Day 2 was an incredibly long day as well but very fun. Lots of memories and lots of steps. Did I mention I had been wearing my FitBit through all of this and we were averaging 22,000 steps a day - thats a good 10 miles!

I'm exhausted thinking about it all over again! Check back soon for a few more days of our Christmas Vacation!
